A great way to get your kids excited about reading is to read with them. The books by Carol Marsh are great for this type of thing because many of them are set in real places that you can visit as a family. You can even start your own mini book club. Something that I like to do is have meals based on what book I’m reading. Just have fun with it!

Stanley Yelnats is sent to Camp Green Lake to serve his juvenile detention time. There isn’t a lake at camp, but rather a desert. He is pushed around by the other kids there. There is so called curse on the Yelnats family. Can Stanley fulfill his destiny and stop the curse? I give this book 5 out of 5 shields for the suspense and fast-paced story. I couldn’t stop reading this book once I got started.

Apophis is rising and only Carter and Sadie Kane can stop him. They must awaken Ra, the old sun god. Will Carter let his search for Zia Rashid stop him, or Sadie’s obsession of curing Walt? I enjoyed this book very much. I give it 5 0ut of 5 shields. I love the funny lines. I was laughing out loud it was so funny. This is the second book in The Kane Chronicles Series.
