SIR MIKE by: Robyn Hood Black illustrated by: David Murphy

Sir Mike does a check of his “kingdom” very often and today there might be trouble. :)  This si a short, little book, only 31 pages. Sir Mike is a Scholastic Rookie Reader. Parents, there is a word list in the back of the book. This book was what my mom would call cute. It is a great bed-time story. I like how it rhymes. I give Sir Mike 4 out of 5 shields. This book has a great ending!

CATCHING FIRE by: Suzanne Collins

This is the second book of the Hunger Games Trilogy. As the tension grows in Panem, Katniss Everdeen is thrown back into the Hunger Games. Just like in The Hunger Games book, I don’t want to give you much of a summary because it will give a lot of things away. This book has a lot more drama than the first book, but it really fits into the setting. There are tons of huge surprises around every corner. It is cool how Katniss has such a deep and troubled character, it seems as with every decision something new appears. I give Catching Fire 5 out of 5 shields. This book keeps you guessing the whole time! WARNING! This book also has a lot of violence, gore, and a little bad language! It was on the edge with my parents whether I would be allowed to read this book.

The movie release for The Hunger Games is even closer! It comes out on March 23! I am so excited!
