The characters all have a gift/curse so it is interesting how they try to solve their problems. I read this book in one day it was so good! The Son of Neptune gets 5 out of 5 shields. THE MAZE OF BONES (book 1 in 39 Clues series) by: Rick Riordan

When Grace Cahill dies, Dan and Amy are given a choice: either take a million dollars or the first clue to world domination. Can Amy and Dan keep the other teams from being the most powerful being in the world ?! I give this book 4 out of 5 shields for the fast paced action and humor. I love how you get to solve codes and puzzles while you are reading. If you go online to The Thirty Nine Clues website you can hunt for clues just like Dan and Amy.

THE LIGHTNING THIEF by: Rick Riordan

This action packed book is about a pre-teen named Percy Jackson. When his math teacher turns into a fury and goes on the attack he knows something is wrong. He doesn’t know at first, but the greek god Zeus blames him for stealing his Master Bolt. If Percy doesn’t prove he is innocent war will break out between the gods! I give this book 5 out of 5 shields because of the humor, action, and adventure. It blends modern day with greek mythology extremely well.
